... But according to him ...

Hey hey!!! Its been a little while!

The song for last week is the BOMB! Its According to You by Orianthi. I heard it on the radio the other day and have been rockin' out even since. Its just a great song to make us girls feel like were on top of the world. Showing those stupid boys who've knocked us down that we really are worth something!

Own it girls!

Your Call by Secondhand Serenade is the song for this week. =) I LOVE it! I first heard it when Hunter gave me a ton of songs last Summer before the semester was over... Its interesting how all of the songs I choose for this blog have to do with summer. I guess I really am a Summer Girl!
Enjoy!!!!!

Random Acts of Kindness

Last night my mom pointed out an article to our family from this months Woman's World called "Next Stop: Kindness". It talked about a group if three college students who, while on their way home from college, would stop along the way and help someone out who was in need. "They had $1000 and a wish."
It was a very interesting article about how they helped so many people by doing little acts of kindness. They left a large tip for a struggling waitress, they gave leftovers to a homeless man on the sidewalk, and they donated blood among other things.
Which really got me thinking... I definitely don't have $1000 to spend but there are so many things I can do to help those in need. And heaven knows I have all the time in the world right now. =) So I have decided to keep my mind focused on things I can do to help others instead of focusing on my needs and wants. And I know that if I focus on helping others more opportunities to do so will present themselves.
Lets have a Great Holiday Season and spread the joy around by lending a helping hand.

Week 2

Last fall my best friend, Brittany, and I moved out of the house for the first time. It was a BLAST! We had our own little studio apartment and all the freedom in the world. Well ever since we were 16 we wanted to go clubbing so bad, but due to our parents curfew and other restrictions we were never able to go until we were on our own. Sad to say it wasn't quite as fun as we expected, but we still went every single weekend. It was our way of letting go of all the stress of being an 'adult' and in a way rebelling just a little.
Well that's where my next 'Song of the Week' comes in. I first heard this song in one of the clubs and have been hooked on it ever since. =) The song this week is What's Your Name by Usher ft. Will.I.Am, Hope you enjoy.

Peace,

Happy Thanksgiving

Traditions.... my family doesn't have too many of them. Just little things here and there. Like having my moms whole side of the family over for dinner on Thanksgiving or opening one present on Christmas Eve. But since I've moved out and grown up a bit I've noticed the changes a bit more. We went out to eat this Thanksgiving, instead of having all the family over, due to scheduling difficulties. And at first it got me a little down. Change seemed to be a reoccurring element in my life since the day I graduated high school, and to have things at home be different than they were in the past almost seemed unstable. When what I needed at this time was the stability.
But, I realized that it wasn't the traditions that were the comforting part of the holidays, its the being together. I looked at all those families at the restaurant sharing Thanksgiving with us, with their smiles and laughter. They were all happy just being together.
Things in life are going to change... they always do. We just have to enjoy the time we have and live it up.

New Moon

Finally after days and days of trying to see the movie New Moon, I have finally succeeded. And it was good. I think it did well to portray the book, saying it didn't have much to work with. The book itself wasn't very exciting. But all in all, New Moon was pretty decent. =)

First Time

So this is my first time writing in a blog. I've kinda been putting it off for days, looking at other peoples' and having no clue what to write. So please excuse my random babbling and grammatical errors. =P

I figured I'd start with the 'Song of the Week'. I wanted to feature a song each week on here so that ya'll can get a taste of my kind of music. I LOVE listening to music, it's a major part of my life. So when I find a song that gets me I wanna share it. =) This weeks song is The Start of It by Meese. I love it because its just so fun to listen to, I found it about a year and a half ago during the summertime so every time I jam out to it I'm taken back to those lazy summer days. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
