Hawaii, How I LOVE You!

Hawaii has been AMAZING lately, I have way too much to talk about but not enough time to do so, so I'll give ya a watered-down version of my happenings within the past month or so...

Halloween:
We went to a Halloween Dance on the Friday before Halloween. Shaniel McCary and her family were in town visiting so she came and chilled with us for a bit. It was way fun to see familiar faces from home!
(Mardi Gras Person, Hello Kitty, Indiana Jones, Zombie Fairy, Hawaiian Chick, Justin Bieber)

That next day Kara, Taylor, Stephanie and I went down to Waikiki with Nathan, Brigham, and Cameron for the weekend. It was seriously the BOMBEST weekend EVER! We went to a UofH Football Game (where we totally dominated against the Idaho Vandals) and we walked down the strip where everyone was dressed up in costumes and they all take pictures with each other.
"Nice ta nice ta nice ta know ya, let's do it again" -Theme Song for the Weekend
(Brigham, Taylor, Cameron, Me, Nathan, Kara, Steph)
(Creeper, Lady Gaga meets Ke$ha, Pitbull, Sailor Moon, Pitbull's GF, Katy Perry)

In November, Kara came with me to a work party. It was super fun, we were Team Yellow and totally DOMINATED with team pride. =) I <3 my job.

For Thanksgiving our wards all had yummy dinners together, I went to mine and then hopped right over to Kara and Steph's ward.

After our Thanksgiving dinners,  Stephanie and I jetted out to Waikiki again. Man, it was the Bombest weekend too. I <3 Waikiki! We got a hotel somewhat close to the strip and crammed 11 people into our tiny room the first night and 13 the next. It was SO much FUN! We went Black Friday Shopping, Chilled by the pool, Went out to Dinner and Clubbing.
Over Thanksgiving weekend my friend Carter (he's from Kennewick but we met here) had some friends, Briana and Spencer, from back home come visit for a few days. Briana stayed with me, she is the darlingest girl EVER! I feel like we've been friends forever! So I spent lots of time with them, goin to the Swap Meet, Pearl Harbor, Foodville, Surfin, etc. It was so much fun.
(Carter and Spencer at the Swap Meet)

Somewhere in between my work party and Waikiki Round two I hiked Stairway to Heaven with Asa, Sam, and their friend from Sweden (I believe) it was probably the hardest thing I've ever done in my life but seeing this view made it all worth it:

We hiked it in an hour and 19 min. I was so proud =D

Also in the end of November Pres. Monson came to Hawaii for the Laie Temple Dedication, it was the best experience ever to see him! We got to see him at the Night Show and then after the dedication Kara and I decided to have a photo shoot on temple grounds and we just happened to be there when he walked out. I was close enough to touch, what an amazing man. You can feel a special spirit just by being near him.
The next thing I know it was December, and the semester's almost over. Fabio asked me to Fall Ball and we had a BLAST! It was held at Sunset Ranch this semester, they had pavillions decorated Arabian themed with chinese lanterns. The food was amazing and they had a live band for a bit that made it feel like a wedding. =) It was great. I had such a great time with Mr. Faubs.

And those are my adventures thus far in dear ol Hawaii

Control

I thought I was in control
I thought I was calling the shots

If so
Why do I feel like crap
Like I mean nothing...
Someone forgettable

I want to be special
The one you can't live without
The one you can't stop thinking about

The one.

My Name Is Khan... and I am not a terrorist

You HAVE to see this movie!

I watched it last night with Kara, KallyRae and Li.
It's amazing and so thought provoking, racial discrimination is a horrible thing. I think that by being aware of what's going on in our country we are more able to put an end to having hatred for those who are not like us.

There are only two types of people in this world, those who do good deeds and those who do bad. There is no other difference.

Dear Homework

No matter how long I sit in front of the computer trying to get you done...

I only end up watching this:

Oh music videos, how I'm obsessed with you!

...and you say we're confusing

The other day a friend of mine popped up on my facebook chat as I was sitting in the living room that my roomie currently inhabits due to less airflow through our room. Anyways my facebook chat friend is very favored of myself, meaning... i have a huge crush on him. I promptly exclaimed my feelings out loud stating "Oh it's so-n-so... I like him!" Where then my roomie proceeded to ask if I liked multiple guys at one time.
The statement got me thinking... well yeah I do and is there anything wrong with that? Psh, no! Boys are dumb, yet we love them. As we all know, there are certain people we are attracted to and certain people we are not. Can't explain why, but it happens. My theory is; if I'm attracted to someone I'll do my best to catch their eye but if I get the feeling that they don't feel the same way I'm all for moving on to the next guy. Yeah, maybe that might make me come across as playerish or impatient but I'm not going to put my heart on the line for some boy who can't make up his mind.
So I guess my point is, I kinda wish you guys would just tell us straight out if you like us. Or ask us out on frickin dates ;) That would be nice. Or if you're not feelin it, quit playin with our hearts so we can move on and find someone better. ...Thanks.

McKae Bre'a Photography

Hey check out my new blog!
I love taking pictures so I decided to start learning about taking them correctly. I joined the Focus Film and Photo club at school where we all just learn from each other, but our instructor also suggested we try the 365 day challenge: take a picture each day for a year and see how much you've improved. So that's what I'm doing. Feel free to follow and comment! =)

Smoke & Drive - Mike Posner

I find this song so seductive

Makes me want to buy a stogie and go on a roadtrip.
... kidding, that's nasty, but I do love this song.

Aloha...

So here I am, back in Hawaii once again, but this time things are dramaticly different and I LOVE IT!

First of all, here is my house! Yes I'm off camous this semester and its SO much better. I can eat my own food, have whoever I want over, come and go as I please, it's like I'm finally out on my own again instead of being hounded my rules, rules, and more rules.

Well, I figure I should probably catch up a bit seeing as I've been here for almost 2 months already. So, I'll start from the beginning...

My dear mother got to come with me this time, which I LOVED because not only did we get some much needed mother/daughter time but I also knew enough about Oahu to show her around a bit. We had a blast in those jam-packed few days.
We toured historic Laie (Ma on The Point)
Rested up at our hotel in Honolulu
Scavenged the Swap Meet at the Aloha Stadium
Visited the Pear Harbor Memorial
...and took Dream Board pics at China Man's Hat

After being home for about 5months this last spring/summer it was way nice to have my dear ma come help me transition back into Hawaii life. It was a great lil getaway fro us both. =)

I love being back in Paradise, its been a blast having my dear friends Kara, Paris, Li, Taylor, Jordan and Allie here. They make my life wonderful. I feel like we've done so much already. Kara got this darling moped named Kanake (Hawaiian for Candy) and we've been scootin around on in all semester. We've been to Kaneohe quite a bit and I've come to really enjoy the drive.
Our new friend Kanake

Zoomin on scoot scoot
Our pit stop, it's crazy how sore your butt is by this point.
Trip to Kaneohe for Li's B-day

Speaking of B-day's, everyone seems to be having them these days...
We went and had a ice cream/pizza party for my dear roomie, Annette's 23rd B-Day

We went to Kahuku Grill and Sunset Beach for KallyRae's 20th B-day!
...and we totally partied like it was 1999 for Paris's 20th BASH as well

We've beached it up quite a bit and I've even gone SURFING!!!! I didnt necesarily get up but the instructor told us later that the board we were using didnt have fins so it was pretty much impossible to get up on, but I tried anyways. ;)

We even went night swimming... and FROZE to death!
My first sunset... like ever, I dont think I've ever just sat and watched it decend below the horizion.

And We've had many many other random adventures thus far...

One of our MANY trips to Angels--->

Is This How Your Supposed to Blog?

So I realized I never really talk about whats going on in my life. I just post random thoughts, lyrics, videos that pop into my head. I guess that's why I sub-titled this blog "The Random Ramblings of McKae Bre'a". But i've decided to be traditional today and give a summary of my blunderings through life these past few months.

Let's see, I spent this last spring and summer at home. During spring I worked as a Para-Ed and Lunch Lady at our Elementary School, which i sadly didn't enjoy too much. The kids and teachers I worked with were AMAZING though. I spent a lot of time with my Bestie, Brit, over in Tri-Cities during the spring. We had a birthday party for her and went on random adventures to the park and sonic.
But once summer hit, we barely had time to hang because of our jobs. I started working at the city pool again only this year I was the Co-Assistant Manager with my friend Nick.
I loved working at the pool even though it was more responsibility this year. We had a great team this year; my little brother, Logan worked with me which made it way fun, we had some good laughs. And one of my best friends, April, also worked as a lifeguard. We had a BLAST hittin up the taco truck, drinkin blue dew, raving to techno music during break, and havin glee offs. Lifeguarding ROCKS!
April and I did tons of fun stuff this summer, we went and saw Eclipse with my Ma and lil sis Shaunessy. We also went and played at Moses Lake Water Park and took a spontaneous trip to tri-town to watch The Socerer's Apprentace. We had a huge quote conversation on facebook, watched a lot of That 70's Show and Gilmore Girls. I had such a blast with her! I don't know what I would do without her sweet smile in my life.
"Don't want to make a scene??? You dump Fez, I dump fries, theres your scene!... Here's a dollar for the scene."
My best guy bestie, Jase, got home from his mish this last summer too. So we got to spend lots of time together too! Boating, hot tubing, cliff jumping, cannoing, arguing about him being able to read me like a book... a spanish textbook (whatever that means). I missed that boy =)
(He's the pelirojo in the left corner)
The best thing of all about being home though was being able to spend time with my family. I love them so very much! =) It was so much fun having us all together under the same roof again.
We went on a family outing to Palouse Falls on Labor Day, it was SO MUCH fun! We also took a family vacation to Silverwood, a amusement park a few hours from home. I loved my rides to singles ward with Chase every Sunday, and how he and Logan would make fun of me mercilessly. The one time Logan and I started bickering in the car going somewhere a random polka song started playing on his ipod and made us all crack up. I love my bros!
And I love my dear little sis too! I had a blast hearing about her new horse, Rosebud, all the time. and going to see our first 3D movie together "Step Up 3". I love love love that darling lil country princess.
Even though summer was a tough time, I really enjoyed being around people who i know love me no matter what. Which is the greatest feeling!
So thats my summer in a nutshell. I need to catch up with Hawaiian life but i'll do that later.
